The ASSA is comprised of 4 yacht clubs in the area (Edenton, Osprey, Pasquotank & Colington).  The member clubs have consolidated their efforts to create the ASSA Regatta, the premier yacht racing event on the Albemarle.  Local companies participate by sponsoring various aspects of the Regatta and over several days sailors from all over the region compete on the water and socialize on land.

Racing and social events are held at the Albemarle Plantation Marina and club house of the Osprey Yacht Club.
